Hurricane Michael made landfall as a category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of over 160 miles per hour and dropped over 10 inches of rain. Over 85% of the 94,000-square-foot structure had been severely damaged. The roof was almost completely torn off, windows were broken, and debris covered the premises. The structural damage was catastrophic, and flooding was compounding the issues. The inside of the church, including the nursery, sanctuary, classrooms, and hallways, was completely inundated with water damage.
